Interior Power

Writer's picture: Jennifer EdwardsJennifer Edwards

When I think of “power,” I often associate it with external or ego-driven expressions, which is the kind of power tied to control, aggression, dominance, force, and sometimes violence. It is frequently experienced as “power over” others; the effort to assert oneself. We may view this type of power as only accessible to a select few, leaving others, including ourselves, feeling powerless. In this framework, those with power are seen as strong, while those without it are labeled weak. However, this form of ego-driven power is not true power—it is merely a façade, often masking insecurity or a lack of control.

True power, on the other hand, is available to everyone. Like love, compassion, joy, and creativity, it resides within us and arises from the True Self. This interior power is effortless and natural, requiring no force. It cannot be taken away, although it can be overlooked or forgotten.

Do you tend to feel powerless? Are you interested in activating your True, Internal power? I’d love to hear from you.
