Mission
Christ for Kids Ministries INC was created to help kids become everything God created them to be. We are a trauma informed, hope centered, inclusive ministry. We work with marganalized people groups to obtain resources and have expanded our work into job skills training for those at risk and survivors of human trafficking.

The ministry shares Christ's love through a variety of media, including books, podcasts, social media, programs and classes. (You can check these out under our "Resources" tab on the menu - most are free!)
History
Christ for Kids ministries Inc is based in Rochester, NY. The nonprofit organization was created by Julie Chapus in 2015 to help Rochester youth (and those in the Greater Rochester area) stay out of the hands of predators and experience the love of Christ.

Since that time, the ministry has expanded to include anti trafficking efforts as well as international missions work. There are no limits to what God can do!

Julie Chapus

Executive Director/ LMSW, Cosmetologist
Athena Award Recipient 2024
Miss Julie is the founder and director of Christ for Kids Ministries. Julie started this ministry after Jesus set her free and escape a cult. She holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from Roberts Wesleyan (2001), and earned her cosmetology license in 2017,and NY State cosmetology instructor license 2021. Miss Julie is a Trauma Informed Trainer with TINRC under the Office of Mental Health.​
Since her calling to children's ministry in 2012, Julie authored a number of Bible-based books, encouraging kids to live out God's Word becoming strong in their identity to protect them from predators. Julie has taught the Bible through imaginative play workshops, and is currently engaged in writing and running programs for teens, she is committed to helping others break out of bondage from cults, and much worse the bondage of human trafficking. Julie understands firsthand the methods used to recruit, groom, and brainwash unsuspecting victims.
Devan Chapus

Videographer/Content Producer Volunteer
Devan has volunteered time here at Christ For Kids Ministries for many years. In addition to working directly with the kids, Devan also produces our video content and animations. We are grateful for the tech support!

Devan and JD Thomman have created a video to bring awareness to the human trafficking issue in Rochester, NY. Devan is pursuing a degree in Communications through SUNY Geneseo.

Amasharay McDonald

Ministry Partner/International Missions
Amasharay has been instrumental in developing CFK's programs. As the Board Chair Amasharay oversees all programming is held to the highest standards, with integrity and safety in mind. She holds a degree in Biblical Studies, with a minor in Missions from Elim Bible Institute (2015), making her a perfect fit for ministry. She also holds a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources and Communications from RIT, and works for NYS Office of Children and Family Services, Child Protective Services making Amasharay equipped to be our CFK Board Chair ensuring protective measures are in place for all the children we serve.

Jennifer Edwards

Vice Chair/Editor Board
Jennifer is a faithful prayer partner, editor, and Vice Chair at CFK. She earned her MSW in 1998.
Jennifer has helped and aided many people suffering from COVID while in isolation through phone calls and gestures of kindness from a distance. Jen has worked in administration, and is currently a Program Assistant at Common Ground Health. She oversees programs to ensure trauma informed practices are practiced at every level.
Lisa Barbosa

Financial Chair Board
Lisa Holds a Masters of Business Administration and Accounting (RIT 2015), CPA
Lisa is a manager at the Bonadio Group, overseeing client and staff accounts, tax preparation and staff management. She is crucial to CFK and its subsidiary MJSB. Lisa oversees all financial accounts, audits, and internal controls making sure our organization is held to the highest standards of integrity.
